• 35mm slide projectors (dual slides are not acceptable for broadcast)

We strongly encourage the use of computer-generated slides (e.g., PowerPoint) to replace the standard slide projection. This results in a cleaner, more legible signal. We will be happy to assist you in the preparation of your computer presentation.

Video Streaming is a method of playing video programs on the Internet from the convenience of your desktop computer. Video Streaming allows live viewing (Webcasting)and viewing at a time more appropriate for you!

Community and rural health care providers can access the latest information and virtually attend Grand Rounds. Audiences can be expanded to anywhere in the world!

A wonderful study aid, students can review lectures

Many student events are available on our Streaming site. Relatives can even watch graduation from distant cities!

Biomedical Communications provides faculty with patient documentation services, usually available to accommodate a last minute need. Cases may be videotaped in the patient room, a clinic or in the TV studio. Patients must sign a video release form.

Medical Television provides full video capture services, digitizing your images into many formats, including full notion video for PowerPoint presentations.

Digitized video for video tape, web or CD-ROM distribution

Videotaped programs and presentations can be converted to CD, DVD, or a web-based format.

A variety of methods, including ISDN, Internet Protocol, satellite, microwave, cable, webcasting and even telephone conferencing are available to connect you with remotes sites for your next video conference.

To simplify the process, we offer one-stop shopping! 

We'll handle almost the whole conferencing setup, finding a room, arranging tests with remote sites, notifying operators and sending you a confirmation.  We offer consultation in presentation design and will see that your conference is the best technology available!

Before you request an appointment, please check online for system availability. All requests must be in the form of an email.

When you request a videoconference, include:

1. Event date and time
2. Event title (or working title)
3. Remote locations you'd like
   Your name, phone number and e-mail address, and user's name
4. Technical contact information
5. List of audiovisual presentation equipment you may need
   

Rooms available for videoconferencing within the Arizona Health Sciences Center include 3230, 2603, 5403, 8403, 2117, 3117 Kiewit, Nursing 470, and DuVal Auditorium.

We also use the services of NAUNET and KUAT Multimedia.

Avoid wearing white or red clothing, especially lab coats, and avoid small, busy patterns (stripes or herringbones).  Avoid large flashy jewelry and id badges.

You want your audience focused on the subject, not your appearance!

• Use large font sizes (at least 24 point) for body copy. A san serif like Verdana or Arial work best.
• Use bold type only for titles or to emphasize. If a bold type is used for body copy the centers could fill in and make it hard to read.
• Use light colored fonts on a dark background for best results. Avoid white or red backgrounds. If white is used, gray it down a little (RGB 234, 234, 234) so it won’t glare. A gray/blue background works best.
• Avoid the color red. It will flare by the time it reaches its target audience.
• Don’t use red on blue or green and don’t use blue or green on red. A color blind person will not be able to distinguish the different colors.
• Avoid thin lines. Don’t go below 2 ¼ pt or 3 pt lines.
• Don’t put too much information on any one slide. Keep it simple. Do not go to the edge of the slide. Keep a comfortable space clear around your information (3/4 to 1 inch).
• If you wish to insert pictures into your presentation, convert them from BMP or TIF to JPG. This will save on memory, making it easier to transfer and will not slow down the speed of the computer when transitioning between slides.
